The meeting in a nutshell

In this activity we examined how social media affect modern life. In particular, we:

1. Presented all forms of social media (pupils are familiar with some but not with all of them);
2. explained how social media can affect the social life of a person;
3. studied how social media can alter the personal life of a person (e.g., induced addiction is a big problem nowadays);
4. examined if social media can improve school life
5. described ways to avoid pitfalls when using social media.

In order to ensure the success of the activity we invited people who have a deep knowledge of social media and gave short lectures about the different aspects of social media and how it affects us mentally and psychologically. Also a presentation was presented to students and teachers in regard to how the unwise use of social media can alter our lives. This presentation was aiming to change behaviors and attitudes towards the use of social media. All lectures were followed by workshops to ensure deeper knowledge of the subject matter.

Dissemination

The fourth meeting of our project was covered by the newspapers ΕΜΠΡΟΣ, Xanthi Post, and ΘΡΑΚΗ.
