The meeting in a nutshell

The theme of the second meeting was about the use of computers in the economic life. The host school asked the director of the branch of an Italian bank to to talk about the impact of computers in financial matters. They explained things like e-commerce, web-shops, web-banking, etc. In addition, they discussed cryptocurrency ( a form of currency that exists digitally or virtually and uses cryptography to secure transactions). In addition, they explained how secure are our e-transactions and how can we protect ourselves against fraud. Also, both students and teachers had the chance to visit a local brach of a bank and see how it operates.

The cultural activities included visit to the museum of the famous Italian writer Gesualdo Bufalino, a visit to the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale, a visit to the town Ragusa Ibla, a visit to Syracuse, Sicily, and a visit to a nearby mansion.
